Kirk Barley, is a Yorkshire-born composer and sound artist, known for his textural and organic work created from processed studio and field recordings. Drawing influence from Jazz, Minimalism, Techno, and Hip-Hop, Kirk’s compositions experiment with time signature, temporals, and tuning systems to produce a distinct and captivating soundworld.
Having performed across the UK, Europe, and Canada, Kirk has shared stages with notable artists such as Andy Stott, Beatrice Dillon, MF DOOM, Madlib, Jan Jelinek, and Pole, among others. His talent has also been sought after for commissioned work by renowned institutions including the British Art Show, Camden Arts Centre, MSCTY, and the Open Music Archive.
On November 24th, 2023, Kirk’s second studio album, ‘Marionette,’ was  released on 12″ vinyl and digital formats through Odda Recordings, a new label launched by Thea HD and Leaflabel.
